Friends of Winterport Rec is a volunteer-run booster club dedicated to supporting and enhancing recreational programs, park facilities, and outdoor spaces in Winterport. In addition to fundraising, we host community events and volunteer projects that bring people together and encourage visitors to explore Winterport. Our goal is to make recreation accessible, fun, and welcoming for all.

New Playground Equipment

In December 2025 Friends of Winterport Rec acquired new-to-us playground equipment and gifted it to the town for use at Abbott Park.

Construction begins in Spring 2026. We will be fundraising in the meantime to help offset the costs of installation and to reimburse the volunteers who provided upfront financial assistance, enabling us to purchase the equipment when it was offered at a very generous discount.
